There, he established a garage, acquired a 2001 Nissan Silvia S15 Spec-S known as the 'Mona Lisa of the Drifting world,' and affiliated with Yakuza boss Kamata's nephew, Takashi. The dynamic shifted when Han met Sean Boswell; after Sean challenged Takashi and lost his car, Han took him in to teach him drifting, demanding he serve as an 'errand boy' for the debt. This mentorship deepened until Han was forced to flee after stealing from Takashi's operation, leading to a fatal collision with a Mercedes S-Class at a Tokyo intersection. Years prior to this event, Han had visited Mexico and established a friendship with Dominic Toretto, where Dom won a 1970 Plymouth Road Runner off him in a race. This connection expanded when they reunited in the Dominican Republic for gas transport jobs, eventually forming a crew that included Cara, Malo, Rico Santos, and Tego Leo.

Later, during a mission to extract Tego Leo from prison, Han mingled with Cara and Malo at a secluded club while Dom waited in the car. The crew's operational peak involved hijacking fuel tankers; Han and Cara took the first two, while Leo and Santos secured the others, overcoming resistance from truck drivers who spotted Letty on top of a tanker. Following this heist, Toretto learned that authorities were investigating their locations, leading to the crew's disbandment and Han expressing his desire to go to Tokyo. In London, the team reunited to face Owen Shaw's group. During a confrontation at Interpol, they were pinned down by sniper Adolfson. Later, while pursuing Denlinger on motorcycles—a Harley-Davidson XR1200 for Han and a Ducati Monster for Gisele—Han saved Gisele from being crushed against an oncoming truck. The climax occurred during a plane hijacking attempt where Gisele was pulled from their car by Adolfson; she sacrificed herself to save Han, shooting Adolfson before falling to her death. In retaliation, Han threw Adolfson into the jet engine, causing its destruction.
